A letter to CFWDC
Dear Careless Four Wheeler Drivers’ Community (CFWDC),
How are you all? I never get a chance to say hi to any of you when we meet in the morning or evening or night and so I thought I would write to you.
Just like you all, I drive a car to work, to market, to drop or pick up my daughter, basically everywhere. And anywhere I go I am sure I will meet at least one of your tribe members. You definitely have a large community.
Actually when I see you driving, I wonder from where did you get your driver’s license? Because when I got my license there were certain rules that I was taught and asked to follow throughout my driving life. But your driving school (if you even went to one) or the driving officer who issued you a license (if you have one) seem to have told you something else. So I thought I would ask you directly if I am doing something wrong.
So.... when I see a long queue to cars ahead of me in a narrow road, waiting… I wait too. I don't drive past the queue to go ahead and cause more congestion. Does driving past the queue and causing more congestion help you reach your destination faster? Maybe you reach a minute or two earlier, but what about the cars you jumped ahead of?
When I am stuck in a traffic jam, I don't honk. Does honking make the car ahead of you start moving? But frankly there is nowhere to move, so where do they move for you to go ahead?
When I am at a signal and it is red, I wait for it to turn green and then wait further for the cars ahead to start moving. So when you honk at a red signal do you have a special equipment to turn the red signal green faster?
I am really curious to know where you get your license and your special equipment. Please let me know.
I also wanted to know if the careless two wheeler drivers come under your community or do I need to write to them separately. Do they have a WhatsApp group? Just because they occupy half the space on the streets as compared to a four wheeler, does it imply they follow half the rules or at times none? I have many more questions to ask them, but I will write to them directly.
Irritated and frustrated with your attitude, but still enjoying my diligent and patient driving, yours sincerely,
Kavita
Wonderful letter Kavita. If karma exists, all the CFWDC members will pay, if they already are not, with high BP/Diabetes type torturous health conditions!!!
